Physical Planets
A physical planet is the location around which up to four stations can orbit. You own a station, not the entire planet. Other players can own neighboring slots without sharing your resources, ships, queues or defenses.
Location and production
Physical planet positions run from 1 to 15. Inner positions favor Crystal and solar-satellite output; outer positions favor Deuterium; middle positions favor Metal. Station production still uses its actual temperature, position, structures, energy and research, so two locations need not have the same output.
Each system has 3–10 physical planet positions selected from positions 1–15. Desktop and tablet Galaxy views hide the other positions. The layout stays fixed when you colonize; existing planets and stations keep their addresses even when a system already contains more than ten.
The position bonuses alone are:
| Position | Metal | Crystal | Deuterium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0.75× | 2.00× | 0.75× |
| 2 | 0.93× | 1.75× | 0.88× |
| 3 | 1.14× | 1.50× | 1.00× |
| 4 | 1.68× | 1.27× | 1.16× |
| 5 | 1.77× | 1.23× | 1.19× |
| 6 | 1.84× | 1.19× | 1.23× |
| 7 | 1.90× | 1.16× | 1.26× |
| 8 | 1.97× | 1.12× | 1.29× |
| 9 | 2.00× | 1.09× | 1.33× |
| 10 | 1.97× | 1.06× | 1.36× |
| 11 | 1.90× | 1.02× | 1.39× |
| 12 | 1.84× | 0.99× | 1.43× |
| 13 | 1.58× | 0.86× | 1.56× |
| 14 | 1.32× | 0.73× | 1.68× |
| 15 | 0.75× | 0.75× | 2.00× |
These are not final production multipliers: temperature and the other modifiers also apply. Basic income is separate and does not receive a position bonus. Inspect Resource Settings for the selected station's actual hourly output.
Expand with stations
Choose an empty station slot, check your Astrophysics capacity, and send a Heavy Freighter. You can own only one station around each physical planet. Viewing an unknown location does not establish a station there.
A displayed address such as 0:13-S3 is system 0, physical planet 13, station slot 3; choose the right galaxy separately before launching. Older three-part addresses without a station slot resolve to slot 1. Include the slot when sharing targets with allies. Anchored stations explains ownership and the conversion of old planets and moons.
Planning a location
- Choose nearby stations for shorter supply routes and easier reinforcement.
- Compare actual production needs rather than assuming a hot or cold location is best for everything.
- Check neighboring owners and debris before committing a Heavy Freighter.
- Treat station abandonment as permanent loss of the holding's remaining assets; read the in-game warning and transfer what you want to keep first.
