Solar Plant
Solar Plants power the live energy grid without consuming deuterium. They support mining at the station where they are built and have no construction prerequisite.
Output
At full production and before research, output is 20 × level × 1.1^level. A level-10 plant therefore produces about 519 energy, not 523. Solar Plant output has no planet-temperature multiplier.
Energy Technology adds 5% at level 1 and 5.05% at level 2. Fusion adds a separate 10% multiplier at level 1 and 10.1% at level 2. These research bonuses compound their own bonuses, not the entire output multiplier; with both at level 1 the combined multiplier is 1.05 × 1.10 = 1.155. Five-level milestones add another initial bonus before the per-level compounding.
Construction cost
Base material cost for target level L is the level-1 amount × 1.5^(L − 1), rounded to the nearest whole resource before applicable discounts.
| Resource | Level 1 | Level 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Metal | 75 | 380 |
| Crystal | 30 | 152 |
| Deuterium | 0 | 0 |
Material Physics reduces material costs. Buildings and facilities also require the Credits shown in the construction quote. Use that quote for your actual price.
Planning
Compare your next mine's energy demand with spare grid output. Upgrade the plant or add Solar Satellites before a shortage slows production. Satellites can be destroyed in combat; the Solar Plant provides a dependable foundation.
An Energy Cell Factory charges Fuel Cells and does not power the live grid; a Deuterium Power Plant does, but needs fuel.
