Energy
Energy powers your station's mines. It is produced and consumed locally rather than stored, transported or bought at the Exchange.
Cover your demand
The balance is energy produced minus energy consumed. If supply is below demand, mine output is scaled down by the supply-to-demand ratio, rounded down to a whole percentage and capped between 0% and 100%.
For example, 800 energy supplied against 1,000 demanded gives an 80% production factor. A negative balance does not automatically stop every resource source; basic material income is separate.
Sources
- Solar Plant: stable output improved by completed levels and research.
- Solar Satellites: output depends on temperature and research; satellites can be destroyed in combat.
- Energy Cell Factory: makes stored Fuel Cells, not live-grid energy.
- Deuterium Power Plant: burns Deuterium to supply live-grid power while fueled.
The 3.0.5 Quantum Datacenter earns Credits by consuming stored Fuel Cells and Deuterium, not live grid power. Turning it up does not fix an energy shortage, and insufficient grid power does not directly reduce its Credit rate while both operating inputs remain available.
Energy Technology and Fusion research improve solar output. Deuterium Power Technology improves plant output and Deuterium Efficiency separately cuts fuel use. Each five-level research milestone adds another level-one bonus, then later levels compound that bonus by 1%, not the entire output multiplier or remaining fuel cost. Check Research previews and Resource Settings for actual rates.
Energy versus Fuel Cells
Fuel Cells are stored and tradable. A power deficit drains them at 1 cell per 1,000 negative energy per hour. That drain does not replace the mine production-factor check, so do not treat a large cell stockpile as a substitute for sufficient solar output.
Practical checks
Before improving a mine, compare its next energy demand with available supply. If you lose satellites in combat, recheck production. Reduce resource sliders or add solar capacity when a shortage persists.
