Quantum Datacenter
In 3.0.5, a completed Quantum Datacenter produces Credits for your current galaxy's wallet at the station where it is built. This is additional to the empire-wide 5 Credits per five minutes, which is paid only once per empire. The building needs no prerequisite research or facility, but must consume both Fuel Cells and Deuterium while running.
Income and fuel
At completed building level L and 100% production, before research:
- Credits/hour:
60 × L × 1.1^(L−1). - Fuel Cells/hour:
L × 1.1^(L−1). - Deuterium/hour:
10 × L × 1.1^(L−1).
For example, at 100% production before research:
- Level 1: 60 Credits, using 1 Fuel Cell and 10 Deuterium per hour.
- Level 2: 132 Credits, using 2.2 Fuel Cells and 22 Deuterium per hour.
- Level 3: 217.8 Credits, using 3.63 Fuel Cells and 36.3 Deuterium per hour.
The Resource Settings control ranges from 0% to 100% in ten-percent steps. It scales both Credit income and both fuel drains. At 0%, the Datacenter neither earns nor consumes fuel. Quantum Computing raises Credit income without increasing fuel demand. Temperature, energy-grid shortages and galaxy economy speed do not change this formula. If either stored input runs out, the Datacenter earns only for the fueled portion of the interval; refilling does not backpay unfueled hours. Ordinary empire income continues. The Credit wallet cap still applies.
Resource Settings puts the Datacenter beside other buildings with its Credit rate, fuel costs, available fuel and production control. On phones it uses the usual building card. Its station Credit total represents potential fueled Datacenter income, not the separate empire baseline. Construction details compare current and next hourly income. A level still under construction does not produce; earlier earned income retains the rate in force at that time, even if processing or a queue completion is delayed.
Construction cost
Level 1 costs 900 Metal, 360 Crystal and 180 Deuterium. For target level L, each base material cost scales by 1.8^(L−1) before applicable discounts. Material Physics and Quantum Datacenter Optimization can lower the material quote. Buildings also cost Credits; Optimization lowers that charge too. Check the actual construction quote for rounding and affordability. Research costs RP separately.
When to build
Start at a station with a sustainable supply of both operating inputs. Reserve Deuterium for flights and Fuel Cells for scans, jumps and mission boosts before raising its setting. Compare extra hourly Credits with the next building and fuel cost; turning down or stopping production preserves inputs when they are more valuable elsewhere.
