Recon Technology
Recon Technology unlocks Recon missions and improves information gathering. This page keeps the former Intergalactic Research Network address.
Quick stats
| Effect at level 1 | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Positive Recon rewards | +10% |
| Manifest reveal chance increase | +1% |
| Additional Recon mission slots | 1 |
| Own effective espionage strength | 1 |
| Shared allied espionage strength | 1 |
The mission family has one base slot, so level 1 allows two Recon missions. Higher completed tiers increase the rounded slot bonus; check the Research preview for the next usable increase.
Manifest reveal chance has a 25% total cap. Only the strongest allied Recon specialist supplies the shared bonus; several allies do not add together. Your effective attacking espionage combines the rounded Espionage Technology bonus, your own rounded Recon bonus and the strongest allied bonus. Recon fleets need an Espionage Probe. This technology does not network Research Labs or create RP income.
Cost and access
Available from level 0 without a lab or research prerequisite. Level 1 costs 4,000 base RP; later levels grow exponentially before any other-domain tier surcharge. The Research screen shows the current quote and saved funding.
Purchase a completed level immediately with RP, or use automatic investment. Metal, crystal and deuterium are not research payments in 3.0. Physical Research Labs increase RP income, not purchase speed.
Each fifth level adds another initial amount before compounding the bonus itself by 1%. See tier progression.
When to invest
Coordinate with an active alliance scout. Higher reward percentages are useful only when you actually run Recon; inspect whole-number slot and strength breakpoints before purchasing additional levels.
