Defense

Fixed defenses fight at their own station; they cannot replace fleetsaving. The values below are base statistics and resource prices before research.

Unit Integrity Shield Attack Base cost: metal / crystal / deuterium
Rocket Launcher 2,500 25 100 2,500 / 0 / 0
Light Laser 4,000 50 200 3,000 / 1,000 / 0
Heavy Laser 20,000 200 800 15,000 / 5,000 / 0
Gauss Cannon 75,000 500 2,500 50,000 / 25,000 / 5,000
Ion Cannon 15,000 1,500 300 5,000 / 15,000 / 0
Plasma Turret 250,000 1,000 7,500 100,000 / 100,000 / 50,000
Small Shield Dome 50,000 5,000 1 25,000 / 25,000 / 0
Large Shield Dome 500,000 100,000 1 250,000 / 250,000 / 0
Anti-Ballistic Missiles 8,000 1 1 8,000 / 2,000 / 100
Interplanetary Missiles 20,000 1 25,000 10,000 / 5,000 / 25,000

Ordinary defenses use the local Shipyard requirement listed on their page. Missile ammunition also needs the appropriate Missile Silo level. Research improves stats but the old weapon-research construction prerequisites are removed. Shield Domes are individual units, not a shield shared by the whole station.

Ordinary battles can rebuild destroyed defenses at the galaxy’s configured chance; missile destruction does not use that rebuild. Bombers have rapidfire against weapon defenses, and stationary assets cannot flee an unfavorable fight.

In Station Defense, equip defenses you actually own at the selected station: each occupied attack or utility slot reserves one unit, including duplicate picks and attack mounts not yet active. A verified station loss destroys every equipped unit; a verified win or replacement of an unsettled run returns them. This mode's shield regeneration and Credit rewards are separate from ordinary fleet battles.

Planning

  • Read the individual page for exact construction requirements and rapidfire matchups.
  • Check research bonuses and the modified in-game quote.
  • Compare combat outcomes before committing resources.
  • Include fuel, losses and recoverable debris in the cost of a mission.
