Deuterium Synthesizer
The Deuterium Synthesizer produces deuterium at your station, using the physical planet’s position and temperature. It has no construction prerequisite.
Production
At 100% settings, before position, research, power and galaxy-speed modifiers:
Hourly output = 100 × level × 1.1^level × temperature modifier
Temperature modifier = 2 − 0.00321 × (max temperature + 130)
Energy demand = 20 × level × 1.1^level
Position and temperature are separate multipliers. Your production slider, available energy and galaxy economy speed also affect resource output. Industry Technology, Plasma and relevant Commerce upgrades can add further benefits. The Resources screen shows the resulting local hourly rate; these formulas are not a promise of that exact final income.
Construction cost
Base material cost for target level L is the level-1 amount × 1.5^(L − 1), rounded to the nearest whole resource before applicable discounts.
| Resource | Level 1 | Level 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Metal | 225 | 1,139 |
| Crystal | 75 | 380 |
| Deuterium | 0 | 0 |
Material Physics reduces material costs. Buildings and facilities also require the Credits shown in the construction quote. Use that quote for your actual price.
Planning
Deuterium favors cold outer positions, especially position 15. It fuels fleets, Energy Cell Factories and Deuterium Power Plants. A synthesizer uses twice the energy of a Metal or Crystal Mine at the same level, so check your power balance before expanding.
Keep enough storage for your next offline period. Ordinary mine production stops adding that resource when storage is full; more production research cannot solve a full store. Research Labs generate RP independently of mine output.
