Nanite Technology

Nanite Technology

Nanite Technology increases building and ship construction speed by 1% at level 1; completed five-level tiers add another initial amount before later compounding of the bonus itself. Level 1 also unlocks Nanite Factory construction, subject to its other requirements.

Quick Stats

Property Value
Research category Engineering
Configured level cap 100; supported RP price limits stop purchases earlier
Effect at level 1 +1% building and ship construction speed; unlocks physical Nanite Factories
Base constellation cost 32 RP at level 1, growing exponentially by level before other-domain tier surcharges
Research prerequisites None; available from level 0

Cost & Requirements

Research Constellation

Level 1 costs 32 base RP; later levels grow exponentially before completed tiers in other domains add to the quote. Buy directly or automatically invest. Partial funding does not unlock the factory.

Physical Factory Requirements

Constructing or upgrading a physical Nanite Factory requires all three:

  • Robotics Factory 10 at the construction location.
  • Computer Technology 10 completed.
  • Nanite Technology 1 completed.

These are requirements for the factory, not prerequisites for researching Nanite Technology. You still need to pay the factory's construction costs and build it separately.

What the Unlock Changes

Level 1 adds 1% construction speed; later completed tiers add another initial bonus before per-level compounding of the bonus itself. Construction time is divided by the effective multiplier and rounded down to whole seconds with a one-second minimum. The effect applies to buildings, facilities and ships, not defenses or research. Active queues recalculate on completion.

The research grants no factory levels or ships. Physical Nanite Factory reductions remain separate and continue to apply.

Strategy Tips

  • Complete this research when you are preparing your first Nanite Factory, alongside Computer Technology 10 and local Robotics Factory 10.
  • Budget separately for the physical factory: unlocking it does not pay its construction costs.
  • Continue researching for incremental speed gains, alongside the separate reductions from physical factories.
