Exchange

Exchange

The Credit Market is active in G1–G4. Buy and sell resources and ships using the Credits belonging to your current galaxy. Prices are shared with other players in that galaxy; G1 trading does not change your G4 wallet or market.

Place an order

Open Exchange → Market, use Find an item, then select a resource or ship. Inspect Price Trend, choose Buy or Sell, enter a whole-number quantity, and review the quote before pressing Submit order.

Selecting an item shows inventory at your current station, excluding other stations and goods waiting at the Exchange. Switch stations before selling from another holding. On phones, Back / Find item returns to the filtered list; Deliveries opens your pickups and ship deployments.

On the Galaxy map, open the Exchange through its Open Exchange action rather than a station-slot selector. Its updated artwork identifies the Exchange on desktop and tablet without changing ordinary planets' station slots.

If confirmation is interrupted, use Retry same order before starting a new one. This checks the existing order rather than submitting another purchase.

Buying

Credits are charged when the order is accepted. You do not need a ship's manufacturing technology to buy that ship. The purchase creates goods in My Deliveries rather than immediately adding them to your station.

After a confirmed order, My Deliveries refreshes immediately without a page reload. The goods still remain at the Exchange until pickup or deployment.

  • Resources: launch a pickup from a station with enough cargo ships, Deuterium and a fleet slot. The materials become available when the pickup returns.
  • Ships: select a destination and deploy the purchased ships from My Deliveries. They become local inventory after arrival.
  • A delayed delivery record does not mean the order was lost; check its status before retrying.

In 3.0.4: Space Dock ships are retired and unavailable to list, buy or sell. Outstanding orders, escrow and deliveries involving them must be settled before that cutover; there is no automatic Credit or replacement-ship grant.

Energy cannot be traded. Metal, Crystal, Deuterium and Fuel Cells are stored resources and can be traded.

The current market has 39 items: four ordinary resources (Metal, Crystal, Deuterium and Fuel Cells), 19 Industry-only materials and components, and 16 ship types. Industry's deposits are iron ore, copper ore, silica and carbon; refined goods are steel, copper, wafers and polymer; its further components are hulls, circuits, armour, shields, sensors, engines, ion thrusters, warp cores, fusion reactors, quantum drives and graviton projectors. The full Industry recipes show how to make them. An Industry Transport holds its own goods and can buy or sell them automatically; ordinary resource orders use station inventory instead. Solar Satellites are also among the traded ships.

Selling

Ordinary sales launch goods from the selected station. Resource cargo needs suitable cargo ships; sold ships fly themselves. You need available inventory, fuel and a fleet slot.

The sale preview is an estimate. The final price and Credit payment are calculated when the transfer reaches the Exchange. Do not budget an unarrived sale as already available Credits. Deuterium cargo must leave room for the flight's fuel.

Fleet upkeep defaults on for active, prepared galaxies. The production rollout covers G1–G4; disabled G5 is excluded. Activation is announced separately and does not charge immediately. See Credits for the initial 24-hour warning and daily noon US Eastern schedule. If you have ships in stasis, you can sell those ships directly for Credits without a delivery flight. A stasis sale option alone does not mean new upkeep charges are running.

Prices

Buying raises an item's market unit price and selling lowers it. Both sides use the same per-unit price, with no bid/ask spread or Exchange fee. Each item has its own SQL-managed baseline, batch size, adjustment weight, averaging period and shared trade-movement budget. Initial batches are 10 units for ordinary resources and Industry deposits, 2 for steel/copper/wafer/polymer, and 1 for components or a ship hull. Each full batch pays its current unit price per unit, then moves the unit price once; a partial final batch pays only for its actual units and also moves the price once. Splitting into partial batches can consume more of the same movement budget. Purchases round up to whole Credits and sales round down.

In 3.0.5, after each complete 24-hour interval, an item's price recovers 1/30 of its remaining distance to that item's own stored baseline, whether above or below it and even without trading. Partial days make no recovery; after n complete days, the remaining distance is multiplied by (29/30)^n, not reset linearly after 30 days. This includes inactive resources, manufactured goods and ships. Installation preserves current prices and stored baselines. Each trade batch requests a step based on the time-weighted mean over the preceding averaging period (initially one hour). Buying and selling consume the same fixed-period movement budget; after it is spent, further trades settle at the current unit price until the period resets. The initial 5% budget permits at most 5% upward movement or about 4.76% downward movement if spent in one direction; movement in both directions counts against the same budget. Daily recovery toward baseline does not consume that budget.

Per-unit prices can be fractional Credits. The quote projects any due daily recovery without itself trading; settlement recalculates under the market lock. Purchases move the price when accepted and ordinary sales on arrival. Review the trend and whole-Credit order total before confirming.

Price Trend shows recorded settled trades in your galaxy. An empty chart means no ticks have been recorded for that item; it is not evidence of a broken market.

Exchange prices are not modified by research. A purchase pays the full quoted price; a sale receives the settled market amount.

Industry materials and manufactured ships have their own trading flows described in Industry. The market's shared reference prices are distinct from your personal mining rate.

My Deliveries

Check this tab after purchases and when a recalled or historical trade returns goods. Eligible old Season 1 Veteran Cache rewards also remain deliveries until collected; joining a galaxy does not issue a new cache.

Status Meaning
Pending Selection Choose a receiving station
In Transit The delivery flight has launched
Returning A pickup is returning with cargo
Delivered The flight completed and goods reached the destination

Read any recall restriction before launching; not every delivery flight is recallable.

Earlier barter Exchange

Older reports may mention player resource listings, ratios, deposits or buy orders. Those are historical barter flows. Current Market orders use Credits and supply-and-demand prices. Deep-space Trade is a separate fleet mission and retains its resource-conversion rules.

Before you submit

  1. Confirm the selected galaxy and station.
  2. Compare the total quote with your Credit balance or available goods.
  3. Reserve cargo ships and fuel for collection.
  4. Keep the order and delivery statuses until arrival confirms completion.

See Credits and Fleet Mechanics.
