Leaderboards

Leaderboards

Leaderboards show the top-ranked players in the universe. Compete for glory and prove you're the best!

Rankings and ratings are different

The Rankings tab shows General, Economy, Research and Military points, with player and alliance views. Alliance totals include all eligible members before pages are split. Score generation runs every five minutes, and cached lists can take another five minutes to refresh. Equal point totals are ordered by when the player joined. Changing page or sort does not change the underlying score.

Rankings remain separate for each galaxy. A switch to G2 does not merge your G1 points into that list.

The board also shows a sortable Credits column. Select it to rank players by their current wallet balance, highest first, or alliances by the sum of their ranked members’ balances. These are Credits held, not lifetime earnings, and they do not add to General points. Balances belong to the selected galaxy and the ranking cache can take up to five minutes to refresh. Equal balances use player join order.

The Ratings system described below tracks normalized category performance and seasonal history separately from those point totals.

Your Ranking

Finding Your Rank

Your current ranking appears on your profile page. You can also search for your name in the leaderboard.

Rank Calculation

Rating leaderboards use rating scores. The join-date tie-break described above applies to the traditional point rankings; do not assume that rating ties use the time a score was achieved.

Rating Score

Ratings use a 0–100 scale. Economy, Military and Research use the current universe score range; other categories use the rules in How Ratings Work.

Climbing the Leaderboard

Short-term Gains

  • Win battles for quick combat rating boosts
  • Complete research for research rating
  • Raid for resources to boost economy

Long-term Strategy

  • Consistent daily activity
  • Balanced growth across categories
  • Expand within your station capacity

Common Mistakes

  • Focusing only on one category
  • Losing battles (hurts combat rating)
  • Not playing during season end

Rewards and history

A ranking is not an automatic currency payout. There is no current Dark Matter reward ladder. See Seasonal Prizes for the distinction between earlier published prize terms and a confirmed competition award.

Viewing Leaderboards

Rankings vs Ratings

Traditional rankings and normalized ratings are separate systems. Desktop Ratings entry points are currently hidden; available tabs depend on the view:

Tab Purpose
Rankings Traditional highscore sorted by General, Economy, Research, or Military points
Hall Of Fame Hourly delayed combat records for the biggest 1v1 and multi-player battles
Ratings Performance-based 0-100 scores with category breakdowns

Navigating the Rankings Page

  1. Click Rankings in the main menu
  2. Use the Rankings tab for the traditional score table.
  3. The table shows all players with sortable columns:
    • Click General to sort by overall points
    • Click Economy to sort by economy score
    • Click Research to sort by research score
    • Click Military to sort by military score
  4. Use the list’s paging controls to view more players.

Hall Of Fame

The Hall Of Fame tab shows delayed combat records pulled directly from battle reports stored in the database.

  • The left panel tracks the top 10 1v1 battles by total damage destroyed.
  • The right panel tracks the top 10 battles with more than 2 participants.
  • Rows show total damage, attackers, defenders, outcome, looted resources, and debris created.
  • Alliance tags are shown beside each player name when available.
  • Winners are highlighted in green and losers in red.
  • The board refreshes every hour on the hour and only includes combat reports older than the previous hour, so new battles always appear with at least a 1 hour delay.
